iTunesKeys error on startup

Postby Painstouch » Mon Jul 25, 2011 10:18 am

Greetings!

After a week of searching for a good itunes media keys program, I finally found the perfect one. Only to find out it doesnt work for me.

The picture in the attachment is the error that pops up after a successful install of your program.

Installed latest itunes 10.4, latest ituneskeys, win7 ult 64bit with sp1 and fresh restart.

Any info/fixes ?

Did you try this fix? It looks like the same problem:

Several people have mentioned iTunesKeys is crashing for them. Running iTunes with the /regserver option seems to fix this.

For example, if iTunes is installed in "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe", go to Start->Run and enter:
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /regserver
And hit OK.

Yes, I did do that, but with no success. The error still pops up no matter what.

But is that /regserver supposed to launch itunes? For me, it does nothing really.

That's correct, it shouldn't launch iTunes, when you run it, iTunes will run in the background for a couple seconds and close.
Did you close iTunes before running the /regserver command?

iTunesKeys uses an interface iTunes makes available to talk to it. That error means iTunesKeys can't find that interface.
Try re-installing iTunes and iTunesKeys and if the error goes away.

Ah, I think it's having a 64-bit compatibility problem. I just put a new version up that should fix it. Try that out.

Are you getting the exact same error? Are you also running 64-bit Windows?
I assume the /regserver fix didn't work.
