iTunesKeys startup error

Postby MattBerube » Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:07 pm

Several people have mentioned iTunesKeys is crashing for them. Running iTunes with the /regserver option seems to fix this.

For example, if iTunes is installed in "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe", go to Start->Run and enter:
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /regserver
And hit OK.

Sure, you could make a copy of the iTunes shortcut, go to properties on it and add the /regserver option.

Add it to the target, not the start in. Put it outside the quotes also.

If that is where you have iTunes installed, then it should be there. Why are you trying to do this anyways?

That doesn't make any sense. When you run iTunes with /regserver it fixes the problem in the background and then closes. You should only have to do this once, not every time you run iTunesKeys.

Hi Matt,

Thanks very much for this software. It is truly amazing.

I'm having difficulty starting it up though. So I installed it on Windows 8 and it worked perfectly. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 (for some reason) and now I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at ItunesKeys.TrackInfoWeb..ctor(), ...." error. I tried doing the reg server thing as stated above and tried running both ituneskeys and itunes in compatability mode for windows 8, but to no avail. I've tried reinstalling ituneskeys as well but no luck either. Any suggestions as to the issue?

Thanks again,
Oisin

Yeah, that seems to be a problem caused by Windows 10. I finally had time to work on it, try the new version. Thanks for the feedback!
