iTunes 10.4.1 causing errors

Postby Draconius » Wed Aug 24, 2011 8:41 pm

Just updated to 10.4.1 iTunes today. I'm using the latest iTunesKeys too. Been using the app for quite awhile and its great.
Though something changed in the way iTunes handles and I'm getting errors when launching itunesKeys.

In the attachment the top error is with iTunes closed and launching iTunesKeys on its own
Second error is with iTunes opened already and attempting to Launch iTuneskeys.

I've uninstalled and re-installed itunesKeys from scratch. issue persists.

Does the fix in this thread work? It sounds like the same problem.

Same thing. I started it with regserver and still same errors. they did something strange to the coding in 10.4.1 cause I'm still running 10.4.0 with ituneskeys on my laptop. unfortunately, going back to 10.4 on my desktop will probably screw up my itunes library. Any other ideas, Matt?

**********Correction. I forgot to put it in as quotes in the run command. its working now.

I have to say. I'm glad you take the time and effort to make a program like this. There is nothing on the internet that even remotely compares to a feature like this for iTunes. And it's he only thing I can use to control iTunes with my media keyboard when I'm doing things like gaming, etc.

I seem to get the same errors. The /regserver fix does not seem to help. I've updated to iTunes 10.5 and iTunesKeys does not want to open. The longer COM error keeps popping up. Is there another fix to this problem? I've been using keys for long time and would hate if it stopped working with the latest iTunes.

Thanks,

Anthony

Are you saying you had the error before upgrading to 10.5? And you still have the error? I'd double check trying the /regserver command. I've tested with 10.5 and there don't seem to be any new issues with it. If that doesn't help try reinstalling iTunesKeys and/or iTunes. Can you post a screenshot or the text of the error you get?

I have the exact same issue of of the original post of this thread; same error messages and all. The problem started when I updated to iTunes 10.5. Running with the /regserver option does not fix the problem. Creating a shortcut to run iTunes with the /regserver option does not even start iTunes. Any other ideas for a fix?

I'd try the /regserver option again. There's no problem with 10.5 in general. If you run iTunes with the /regserver option correctly you won't see the iTunes window start, but if you look in task manager processes list, you'll see itunes.exe run for a few seconds and then close on its own.

If that still doesn't do anything try reinstalling iTunesKeys and/or iTunes.
